This 6th Amended Administrative Order is being issued in response to the current pandemic outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and the Washington State Supreme Court's Fourth Revised and Extended Order No. 25700-B-646. It is effective IMMEDIATELY.
The Washington State Supreme Court has adopted Order No. 25700-B-602 granting emergency authority to this court to adopt, modify, and suspend court rules and orders, and to take further actions concerning court operations, as warranted to address the current state of emergency.
The court is committed to protecting the health, safety, and security of our community as well as protecting the constitutional rights of the accused. Grant County District Court has reassessed the risk of conducting jury trials in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic in Grant County.
Now, Therefore, it is hereby ORDERED:
- Grant County District Court continues to make an individual finding of unavoidable circumstances due to COVID-1 9. Based on these findings, the time between the date of this order and the date of the next scheduled trial date is EXCLUDED when calculating time for trial.
- All criminal jury trials are hereby suspended until after May 10, 2021.
- All civil jury trials are hereby suspended until after May 10, 2021.
