Proclamation 21-09 Rent Assistance

Rental Assistance Available in Grant & Adams Counties

The fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented number of households getting behind on rent.  In response to this need, federal, state, and local policymakers have appropriated rent assistance to pay back rent, utilities, and some future rent to help people stay housed.

Here in Grant County over $9,500,000.00 has been allocated to prevent evictions.  Since August 2020 many households have been provided assistance through this effort.  If you or someone you know needs assistance paying back rent and utilities, please contact one of the following entities:

Go to the Housing Authority of Grant County website, click the Apply Now! Button, then click the Rental Assistance button.

Paper applications can be picked up at the Housing Authority main entrance at 1139 Larson Blvd, Moses Lake, WA. Completed applications can be dropped through the mail slot at the main entrance.

To address this unprecedented level of need, the entities listed above have expanded their capacity to process applications for assistance by hiring additional employees.  Even with this capacity expansion, it can take several days to make a payment to a landlord, once a completed application has been submitted.  Providing the required documentation promptly will help expedite assistance.
