Central Basin Investigative Team (CBIT)

Participants

CBIT includes investigators from the Quincy, Ephrata, Othello, and Moses Lake police departments; the Grant and Adams County sheriff's offices; Washington State Patrol; and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

CBIT has 12 detectives, four supervisors, and a team commander.

Founding

CBIT was originally formed to investigate officer involved shootings, major accidents, and major use-of-force incidents where significant injuries are sustained. In 2009, it was decided by the CBIT board, made up of chiefs and sheriffs, that the team would also be available to assist in homicide investigations.
