Building

Grant County is committed to ensuring that our built environment supports the public health, safety, and general welfare of its citizens and visitors of our community.

To that end, the Grant County Building Division of Development Services enforces the provisions of RCW 19.27, the Washington State Building Code, and employs International Code Council certified building inspectors and plans examiners to ensure that construction documents are reviewed and demonstrate conformance with the code, that permits are issued and inspections are conducted throughout the various phases of construction so that the end result is to provide buildings that may be used safely and securely by current and future generations.

Code Enforcement

Code enforcement is no longer facilitated through the Building Department.  All enforcement functions are done through the Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Management Division.  The Code Enforcement Unit enforces building and land use regulation as set forth in Grant County Code within the unincorporated areas of Grant County.  The Code Enforcement website page can provide you with details on how to submit a complaint online, report an issue, or speak with a representative.

Special Note

Requirements for applying, permitting, construction, and inspections are subject to change at any time based on local, state, and federal law or policy, building code cycles. Feel free to reach out to Building Division staff to verify permit requirements at any time.

Permit applicants are responsible for knowing the content and requirements found in their issued permit packet.  Please familiarize yourself with the permit packet to ensure you understand what is expected during the inspection process.  As always, should you have any questions about your permit, contact our office via any of the methods listed to the right.
